The Sons of Hodir are a faction of frost giants located in Storm Peaks. The Sons of Hodir quartermaster has some nice shoulder enchants for every class among other rewards. If you just want to know how you can get exalted in one day then read the section titled ‘Getting Exalted in the Tricky way’ at the bottom of the post.

Getting Exalted in the Normal Way

Getting Neutral with Sons of Hodir

Before you can do the dailies you will need to achieve neutral status with Sons of Hodir. The quest chain to gain neutral status starts with They Took Our Men! in K3. This is a very long chain quest. A full list of all the quests in this chain can be found here. After you finish this quest chain you will probably be sitting on friendly reputation with Sons of Hodir.

Doing the Dailies to Get to Exalted with Sons of Hodir

Now that you are friendly with Sons of Hodir you can start doing the dailies. There are three daily quests that you can get at friendly status:

Polishing The Helm (250 rep)

Hot and Cold (250 rep)

Blowing Hodir’s Horn (250 rep)

Once you are honored you can pick up the following two addition daily quests

Spy Hunter (350 rep)

Thrusting Hodir’s Spear (500 rep)

Finally, you will be able to pick up one more addition daily quest at revered reputation

Feeding Arngrim (250 rep)

How long will it take to get to Exalted with Sons of Hodir?

According to wowwiki, it will take about the following amount of time to gain the reputation from daily quests Without turning in any Everfrost Chips (Everfrost Chip gives you 350 rep if you turn them in):

Friendly to Honored – 8 days

Honored to Revered – 8 days

Revered to Exalted – 11 days

So, a total of about 27 days!!!

Getting Exalted in the Tricky way

Now comes the interesting part… If you don’t want to wait 27 days to get exalted doing the dailies then read on. Unfortunately, you cannot use this trick if you have completed ‘Forging an Alliance’ quest already.

When doing the Chain of quests to get to neutral with Sons of Hodir, there is a quest called Forging an Alliance. This quest can be used trickily to get to exalted with Sons of Hodir in one day! This is what you have to do:

Take the quest Forging an Alliance.

Fly to King Jokkum and take the quest You can’t miss him.

Fly to Njormeld and turn in ‘You can’t miss him’ then take Battling the Elements.

Complete ‘Battling the Elements’ and turn it in.

Now abandon the quest ‘Forging an Alliance’ and you can retake all the qeusts! Rinse and repeat. Everytime you will get about 325 reputation with Sons of Hodir… keep doing it until you hit exalted!

Please leave your suggestions in the comment area below.

This page has a list of good world of warcraft grinding spots for level 35 to 60

Level 34-37
Venture Co. Meteorologists at Lake N. in Stranglethorn Vale
I love these guys. I mentioned them in the gold guide, and I really do love them.
They have good drops, and they die fast. Hunters can sometimes even take two on
at a time, as they like to stay at range and use their lightning bolt attack. Sic a pet
on one, and take out the other yourself. They don’t always stay at range, however,
so your milage may vary.

Level 36-38
The Naga on the islands in Desolace have low armor, and there are casters in the
mix. Be wary of the wandering sea giants, though. One will walk across the island
every now and then, and they’ll kill you if they sees you.

Level 37-39
The Murlocs by Grom’Gol in STV are excellent grinding. They have, as per usual, low
defense, and take alot of damage. Some casters mixed in the fray as well.

Level 36-46
In the Badlands, there are ALOT of rock elementals. They range from about 37 to 42
or so, if I remember correctly. They’re sort of close to the Horde base, so Alliance
might be weary of the area. They die fast, and they have some pretty good vendor
drops. Higher level ones spawn by the Ogres camp, and have a chance of spwaning
Rumbler, a named rock elemental. There’s also a few quests right by the lower ones,
so some extra EXP is fun.

Level 40-43
The Scalding Whelps in the Badlands are fun to grind. They’re basicly casters, low
def and HP, high damage. They also have a chance of dropping a a Tiny Black
Whelpling, which can go for 20-50 gold on some servers in the AH, and are pretty
cool pets regardless.

Level 40-46
The Wastewander humans in Tanaris are great grinding for a large level range. They
start off at level 40 and 41, and ramp up to 44 or so, and then you can move to the
pirates, which range from 44-45 (Or is it 46?). Chests spawns are all over the place
too, so you can get some phat lewt. My gold guide has more in depth information on
their location.

Level 42-45
The Naga in Stranglethorn Vale are pretty easy to kill, though there aren’t any caster
mobs mixed in. I personally don’t like this one, but it is viable.

Level 44-46
There are some more Naga on an island in Feralas, south of Feathermoon Stronghold
or whatever. I’ve never been there personally, but I’ve heard good things about it. A
named naga spawns at the top of one of the caves, 24 hour spawn.

Level 45-48
Also in Feralas, there are some Yeti in the Feral Scare Vale. The normal ones are
about level 45, and they ramp up to level 48 or so. Pretty good grinding, but the
range of movement is sorta large.

Level 46-48
The ghosts in Azshara are great. I love them. I can’t stress how awesome they are.
They drop insane mageweave and silver, and are absolutely excellent to kill. The
Litchlings are casters, and die even faster than the Apprentices, which go down
quick.

Level 47-49
I’ve heard good things about the Dunemaul ogres in Tanaris, though I don’t have
much experience with the area.

Level 47-49
I like elementals, and here are some more . In the Searing Gorge Cauldron, and a
little bit North of it, there are plenty to grind.

Level 49-52
Deadwood Village in Felwood is decent grinding, and you can also use it to raise your
Timbermaw faction. Not much I can say about it.

Level 52-54
The Ogres in the Burning Steppes are pretty good. Same thing as with other ogres.

Level 53-58
More ghosts! This time in Winterspring, on the frozen lake. I <3 these guys.

Level 53-58
Running around in the Plaguelands killing undead. Raising Argent Dawn faction is a
pain, so you might want to go ahead and do slightly slower grinding at the gain of
being able to raise your faction at the same time. It’s also possible to go to 60 doing
this, but it’s mind numbingly boring… But for some, the faction is worth it. You
cannot gain faction from killing monsters when you are level 60, so if you plan on
grinding them for the faction, you may really want to do this until 60

Level 57-60
If you’re a rogue, Blackrock Stronghold is the place to be. You will die a few times
getting down a beat, but once you have the timing going well, you’ll be dominating
the area. Half the mobs there are casters, and the other half still have low armor
compaired to most mobs of this level.

I) Getting Exalted with Scryer in one day

1. Go to Manaforge B’naar (Netherstorm). Southern B’naar is filled with Sunfury Geologists and Warp-Engineers perfectly clumped for Seed of Corruption AoE farming. There are more perfectly clumped groups of mobs here than you can kill before they respawn. This place is absolutely ideal. The Geologists and Warp-Engineers are about the lowest level/hp mobs that have a good chance to drop Arcane Tomes and Sunfury Signets.

2. Also get all the chain quests from Area 52 and complete them to get scryer reputation.

3. Go to the Southern terrace of the Black Temple (Shadowmoon Valley). Start at the bottom of the path and work your way up a level then fly down and repeat, the mobs spawn fast and can be killed easily.

Not an Scryer? You can still make a lot of money by selling the Sunfury Signets and Arcane tomes.

II) Getting Exalted with Aldor in one day

1. Complete the quest to serve the Aldor. Completion of this quest will put you at friendly.

2. Take the quest to bring 10 Marks of Kil’Jaeden to Ayden the Lightwarden in Shattrath. Do not complete any other quests yet!

3. Grind/Buy Mark of Kil’Jaeden (25 rep per) and turn them in until you are Honored with The Aldor. At honored you can no longer turn in these marks.

4. Once you are honored, finish the quests that give you Aldor rep from Shattrath and Netherstorm. There are two Aldor quest givers in the Area 52 Inn. The chain of quests are easy at first but end with group content (3 or 5 man).

5. Switch your grind/purchasing to Mark of Sargeras (25 rep per) and Fel Armament (350 rep per + dust that you should bank to buy shoulder enchants). As a Rogue, the Artifact Seekers in Netherstorm are a really easy grind. They have a mana burn ability which is bad for casters, but if you don’t use mana they only autoswing. These two items will take you the rest of the way to Exalted.

Places to grind Aldor rep:

1. Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley. The wrathwalkers are pick pocketable and they go down easy.

2. Arklon Ruins in Netherstorm.
