Use this guide to skill up your World of Warcraft engineering profession from level 1 to 450 easily. This guide can be used by a beginner or someone who is dropping a profession and taking up engineering.

Combining Mining with Engineering will save you from having to buy a lot of the mats to level your Engineering profession. If you choose to buy everything from the auction house it will cost you a lot more in gold but will save you some time.

Begin by becoming an Apprentice Engineer.

At Engineering level 50 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Journeyman Engineer which allows you to level your Engineering skill up to 150.

At Engineering level 125 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Expert Engineer which allows you to level your Engineering skill up to 225.

At Engineering level 200 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Artisan Engineer which allows you to level your Engineering skill up to 300.

At Engineering level 275 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Master Engineer which allows you to level your Engineering skill up to 375.

At Engineering level 350 talk to the appropriate trainer to become Grand Master Engineer which allows you to level your Engineering skill up to 450.

At Engineering skill level 200 and character level 40, Engineers have the option to specialize in Gnomish or Goblin Engineering. The major difference between Gnomish and Goblin Engineering is the location of their respective teleporters and the attributes/abilities of the trinkets they can make. Some items require a specific specialization to use the item, while other items are crafted by one specialization and can be used by any engineer. Fortunately, most of the recipes that can be crafted by one Specialization can be worn by both.

Engineering Leveling Guide

First, visit any trainer in the main cities of old Azeroth – You can find the location of the trainer by asking a guard. Once you have found the trainer learn Apprentice Engineering. Then use the following list to find out what you should be making at what engineering level to skill up your engineering profession.

Some items require a specific specialization to use the item, while other items are crafted by one specialization and can be used by any engineer.
Level 435 – 450

This part will cost the most in terms of mats; there seems to be no other recipe that you can use to level your Engineering from 435 to 450. The Gnomish Army Knife recipe turns yellow at 440 and green at 445. On my server this item does not sell well on the auction house. If you do not have mining as a profession this can cost well into 1000g on some servers. If anyone has a better way of getting from 435 to 450 please let me know.

Gnomish Army Knife – 10 x Saronite Bar, 1 x Skinning Knife, 1 x Minning Pick, 1 x Blacksmithing Hammer

This is what I am using to get to 450 engineering. What are you using? If you know of any better way or recipes to skill up engineering for a specific skill level then please leave your suggestions through the comment area below.
