Vault of Archavon minimum gear/stat requirements
This is the minimum gear requirement guideline for Vault of Archavon Raid instance. Try to spec and gear your class properly to achieve these targets if you plan on clearing Vault of Archavon.
Minimum Requirement for Tanks
Defense Rating at least: 540 (Defense Cap)
Health: 27k
Armor: 23k+
Minimum Requirement for DPS class
The key thing to remember for the dps classes for this raid is that the main boss (Archavon the Stone Watcher) is on an enrage timer of 5 minutes, which means he will enrage if not killed quickly enough and wipe the raid instantly. So every dps class need to output at least a decent amount of dps to down this boss.
- All dps class should have at least more than 1.3k dps for normal (10 man) and 1.6k dps for Heroic difficulty (25 man).
- Classes whose dps depends on Attack Power should have at least 2.8k Attack Power.
- Classes whose dps depends on Spell Power should have at least 1450 Spell Power.
- Dps should have at least 85% towards the hit cap.
Note that it is possible to down the boss with a few dps in the raid with less than the suggested dps but then the fight becomes challenging as Archavon the Stone Watcher (main boss) will enrage and wipe the raid if he is not down within 5 minutes.
Minimum Requirement for Healers
- Healers should have at least 1600 Bonus Heal and 600 mana regeneration.
- 190 MP5 (Mana regeneration while in combat)

The Tank requirements, dont require the tanking of a feral, just a heads up. I have done this and i have only 409 def rating, i got 30.17% dodge with MOTW, 602 agility, 25281arm, 86 resil,331 strength, maybe could be done with less, but i Main tank it and off tank it fine
paladins do not need mana regen. and as long a dps class buffs the party well enough (pala, druid, shaman) its not needed to have all that much dps
Pfth! Archavon is the easiest boss in all of WoW, you really shouldn’t worry about gear as long as you know the strat. (As long as you aren’t in full greens, heroic blues would be what I’d consider ‘Minimum’.)
VoA is the most game breaking thing to ever appear in WoW, it’s worse than L70 Battleground Welfare Epics. You can ding 80 and within 20 minutes have T7.5 gear. If you know to move away from big nasty cloud that hurts you then you won’t die. 10 Man VoA is healable by a single competant Resto Shammy, Earth Shield soaks up most of the damage he dishes out and his Enrage is pathetic if you ever get to that stage.
Maybe if he spawned adds of had an extra million hp it may justify it being in the game, at the moment it’s broken.
He even dropped Reins of the Black War Mammoth today!
Just in case HTML didn’t work:
He even dropped Reins of the Black War Mammoth today!
It would be game breaking if the odds weren’t so bad. The difference between this and regular T7-dropping bosses is that these are much more class specific gear items, not tokens. It’s not like “warrior, hunter or shaman”, a 1 in 3 chance, it’s like “feral druid”, a 1 in 19 chance – that’s over 6 times worse odds. I almost never see anyone get a piece of gear they need. Yeah, the mammoth is nice _if_ it drops, and guess what – 24 other people are going to be rolling on that mammoth. Realistically, it’s a couple cheap badges and maybe an abyss crystal. If you use Vault to gear yourself, you’re gonna take a couple years to fill out your T7.
This looks like what arch alone needed before emalon was added. This guide needs an updat to include emalon id say.
I was in a group with a random somewhat under-geared pug and with the proper communication we downed Ema on the first try.
My prot pally tank specs [Unbuffed]:
25k HP
25000ish Armor
541 Def
20 Dodge
16 Parry
atm i have 27k hp, 24k armor, 541 def rating, 18% dodge, 18% parry, and 21% block, give or take 0.2% on those three percentages. is that enough or do i need more now for VOA 10?
